Line Too Long

Generally having lines too long causes part of your query to fall off the right side side of the screen making it impossible to read.

There is a warning threshold at 130 characters, and and error threshold at 150 characters.

Do you agree?

If you don’t agree this that line length being too long should be considered as technical debt, that is just fine, in the Database Health Reports settings dialog you can turn the check for lines too long off. As long as you have coding standards that state one opinion or another on cursors as being your standard, then you are doing better than most.

A good coding standard can over-ride many of the items that may be considered as technical debt.
