Database Health Monitor Licensing Changes

Database Health Monitor Licensing Changes

There have been a number of questions in regard to our recent licensing changes in Version 3 of Database Health Monitor.

Hopefully this letter helps explain the changes.

NOTE: After receiving customer feedback this week for a single license price point for Database Health Montor, we have added that to the pricing matrix. You can now purchase a Database Health Monitor License for a single server for the following prices.

  • Monthly at $9.99 per month
  • Annual at $99.99 per year

I hope that this makes it easier to purchase Database Health Monitor for a single server environment.

Database Health Monitor has evolved over the years. Initially, it was free for everyone, which was great during the Beta years while we added features and functionality. Then we went to the points model where you could get a free connection for being subscribed by my mailing list, and a few other tasks. It turned out that this model was great for a while, but not sustainable in the long run.

The product has grown over the last 14 years, and we now have full-time team members that are dedicated to the development and support of Database Health Monitor. That adds expense and therefore has made the free and the points model not sustainable.

Although we have had to get rid of the free options for Database Health Monitor, we do still offer one of the most inexpensive monitoring and maintenance solutions available for SQL Server.

For our absolute best pricing you can purchase the Database Health Monitor class which includes licensing for up to 10 SQL Servers at just $299 per year.

For a limited time, we have a $10 off discount on Database Health Monitor for the first year if you use this link with coupon code DBHWELCOME:

The good news is that since expanding our development and support team, we have been able to add features in the last year that we didn’t have time to add in the past. To make it even better, we plan to add new functionality over the next year and beyond.

We also have a support team so if you need help with something, or if a part of the product is not working as expected, just reach out to us for help.

We do hope that you find enough value in the product in order to be able to continue using it as a paid product. If not, please tell us what is missing, and we will work to improve the product.

Thank you,

Steve Stedman and the Database Health Monitor Team.
